Lubricants
There is a common misconception that lubricants are essential for those who experience intimate problems, which is absolutely mistaken. Today lubricants become as important as condoms and are an undeniable help in intimate life as they considerably add to erotic sensations.
When do you need a lubricant?
- Lubricant is necessary when you use sex toys as with its help you provide smooth and pleasant stimulation to your body.
- In order to smooth over sensations during anal sex as anal area is not prelubricated.
- To prevent injury and discomfort if you experience lack of natural lubrication. It's useful for vaginal insertion of either toy or partner, as the woman must be well lubricated to make penetration comfortable enough. If she is not well lubricated, the experience will not be good for her or her partner.
- With Anal penetration, lubrication is necessary. You must ALWAYS use a good amount of lubricant, because the rectum will not lube itself as the vagina. Also the rectum walls are not as solid as the vaginal walls, so you might injure yourself if not properly lubricated.
Types of lubricants
Oil and Petroleum based lubes
Oil and petrolium Lubes are wide spread, and are NOT recommended for use with most sex toys (as a general rule, we do not encourage the use of oil or petroleum based lubes at all). One of the most popular brand of these lubricants is Vaseline.
They ARE the best type of lube for male masturbation as they do give a very smooth lubrication.
We do not recommend the use of these lubes for two main reasons: They will harm sex toys made of Latex and even jelly (most dildos are made of either one) and they will deteriorate and break down latex condoms (NEVER use petroleum lubes with condoms !). Petroleum lubes might also cause vaginal infection in some cases.
Water based Lubes
These Lubes are the most recommended kind of lubrication for both sex toy and condom lubrication.
Water based lubricants (i.e: O'My, Ky, Id etc ...) are easy to clean and they will not stain sheets (as will petroleum based lubes). These lubes are friendly to every sex toy.
The only disadvantage to water based lubricants is that they dissolve in water. If you want to use your toys under the shower or in the tub, we recommend a silicone based lubricant.
Silicone based Lubricants
Silicone based lubricants are fairly new to the market.
They resemble water lubes in almost every aspect and are more resistant to water. This type of lubricant will wash off easily with warm water and soft hand soap.
They must NOT be used with silicone based toys (some of our dildos are made of silicone).
Flavored lubricants
When you want to add something special to erotic play, flavored lube is simply perfect to ensure you not only give yourself good sliding sensations but also add something piquant to sexual enhancement.
Favored lubes are basically good for oral sex and make it delicious and incredibly pleasant and also can be used for solo sex.
These lubricants can have any of your favorite tastes, like strawberry or banana.
Some flavored lubricant may cause vaginal infection, this refers to those lubes which contain sugar and thus are not recommended for those who are sensitive to some of the ingredients included in this type of lubricants. So check on these lubes to be sugar free.
